The World Solar Challenge

It’s that time of the year again when the Australian Outback will once again become the scene for the World Solar challenge – a car racing competition where 40 teams from around the world will compete against each other to showcase the most efficient and sustainable solar car prototype. The World Solar Challenge is focussed upon supporting research and designs for automobiles that make use of solar energy to travel.
Automakers around the world tune in to the World Solar Challenge since this competition often brings to the fore, car designs and studies that will ultimately help in bringing better and more fuel efficient, energy efficient cars into the car market. (more…)
More Electric Cars

Don’t blame me for what I’m about to put you through but writing about the Electric Mitsu put in the mind to look up some other electric cars that have been unveiled in the past and might be out of the roads later this year if they are not out already. Check these out!
Ok I know that many of these may look like mutant cars, like somebody had a bad day on the drawing board but the point behind each of these cars is that they cut fuel consumption, cut the noise, and will, in the future be responsible for cutting the barage of attacks that gets sent to the ozone on a daily basis. we all do what little can for the environment and what these cars are doing by virtue of being electric cannot be fathomed.
So chin up and let’s see what the brains in AutoLand are thinking up for us.

Are you ready for an electric car?

As the global recession tightens the noose around Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, Toyota has fired another bullet into the cachets of the already wheezing US auto giants. Irreverent as ever Toyota, which has so far managed to escape the financial backslap rendered by fluctuating fortunes on the markets, albeit with scratches and bruises, has announced intentions to launch a hybrid electric in Australia based upon its iQ model which was recently launched in Japan.
