Despite the markets taking a vicious beating at the hands of recession, car makers have not shied away from launching new models with the anticipation that they might be able to induce respectable sales even when behemoths like Jaguar-Land Rover have come out waving the white flag. So let us take a good look at the most anticipated launches of 2009 in Australia, cars which are expected to keep the automotive ship floating.

1) The ALFA ROMEO MITO: It is being brought in as an infiltrator to battle with the BMW and is a small car on which availability of auto finance and chattel mortgage should not be a hassle. The price of this compact vehicle would be somewhere in the range of 30K, an amount on which attaining vehicle finance should not be a problem. It comes with an automatic gearbox, based on the dual-logic technology. It is touted as a car which should not disappoint. The car has been designed by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo and the 8C Competizione is the inspiration behind the employed design of the Romeo.

2) The Aston Martin: Preferred by royalty and also 007’s preferred choice, the brand is ready to launch three back-to-back models in the coming year. The Rapide, a sports sedan is expected to come out by the fall of ’09 with the USP being its speed. Those eyeing this showpiece can get prepared by taking out a hire purchase or chattel mortgage pre-approval. Vehicle finance might be difficult considering the financial times but taking out car finance if you are the right customer should not be a problem to purchase an Aston Martin. Magnificence personified that it is, buy only if you can afford. The Other two being the Vantage Coupe and the Volante Convertible, prices might range when out in the market.

3) The Audi: Audi launches the Q5, which is seen as a little sibling to the Q7 and is said to resemble the A4. Audi cars are always expensive, so it would be better to organise a chattel mortgage or commercial hire purchase due to the lower rates that you will receive. Industry pundits say that the BMW X3 is going to face stiff competition in Australia, as the Q5 is being seen as a vehicle where no stone is being left unturned to make it a success. Some of the salient features with which the Q5 will be put into action will be multiple engine configurations which includes petrol ones and diesel engines with turbocharged direct injection apart from hybrid ones.

4) The Bentley: The British opulent Marque by Volkswagen is all set to announce the price for two models to be made available in 2009 for those who have a minimum of $650,000 to spend. So, it becomes clear that processes like auto finance, chattel mortgage and hire purchase will be imperative even for those who can afford. The Azure T is expected to be even more exclusive with its price starting from $750,000, a situation where Bentley loyalists might have to opt for hire purchase. Bentley has been very ambitious with this car as it is being called the most graceful convertible in the world.

5) The BMW: BMW will launch the six cylinder 7-series, the first one in Australia after 1992. Considered to be the brand’s flagship replica, the machine would be available in two versions. The first one would be the 740i priced at $203,000, while the other one would be the stretched 740Li priced at $218,000. So if you can afford it, well and good and if not, go straight to the banks for help. It will be irresistible as the models have shield levels VR6/VR7 as protection, making security an afterthought.

So these are the much-awaited speed machines expected to make a splash in the market. Get prepared to buy one, as you might be spoilt for choice.
